| Wow! It's been awhile! Well
here's a big list of cool and upcoming games!
First, there's Half-Life 2 of course. It's supposed
to have crazy mad physics in the new Source game engine (like
explosions filling volumes like they said would be in TF2 a long
while back) and some excelent AI that can chase you through about
anything as well as spiffy graphics and facial animation. Expect
Team Fortress 2 to be announced soon after
Half-Life 2 comes out in September (or maybe as soon
as more details are released on HL2)
Next, there's Halo for PC. It will be enhanced
over the pittiful X-box version. :D (new maps, weapons [including
the alien' fule-rod gun] and you can fly the alien Banshee in
mulitiplayer mode). Plus you can use mouse and keboard. (big plus
in my book)
There's another expantion to Morrowind with
werewolves. (Bloodmoon) I wonder if/when they'll
get to the next new installment. I think there were supposed to
be 3 full games total including that last one I can't even recall
the name of now. (it used a sprite based enigne in the age of
real 3D)
For those who are totally phyco there's GTA: Vice City
and Postal 2.
One that's out of the norm and sounds kind of cool is called
The Movies by Lionhead. It's a tycoon style game
where you start you're own movie studio and direct the movies
you are making from 1920's to the present. You make decions about
buying props, building sets, hireing actors, selecting scrips,
etc. It may end up being highly expandible (like The Sims). Due
2004 or later
Then there's Enter the Matrix. Nice idea to tie in to the movie,
but will the game be any good?
Jedi Knight: Jedi Academy looks pretty spiffy.
Lots of lightsaber action (single, double or saber staff) and
very customizeable characters. You can will be able to use the
force while using the saber at the same time for "combos"
which is a new to the JK games.
Deus Ex 2 - pretty graphics, mulitple ways to
solve problems. Kind of a rollplaying FPS.
Battlefield 1942: Secret Weapons of WWII - 2nd
or so expantion to BF1942, new maps, new vehicles
& weapons. W00t :-/
Medieval Total War: Viking Invasion - expantion
to MTW with Vikings. Uhh...if you liked MTW you might like this.
Galatic Civilizations got a real good rating
in CGW as did Raven Shield. I've played RS
and it is quite good!
Oh yeah, there's that thing called Doom 3 also.
Blech.
Well, I think that's it for now.
